Our local Unit 1187 Auxiliary has partnered with and supported our post in many ways, providing refreshments for meetings, annual BBQ/Picnic and other Post 1187 events.
The Unit 1187 Auxiliary also has many specific projects and programs of their own, such as, sponsoring the “Girls State” program, sponsoring and providing donations to the “Wreaths Across America” Program, sponsoring and supporting the Veterans at the Community Retirement Center at Fitzsimmons with a Christmas Party and other activities throughout the year.
Another activity and support project the Auxiliary sponsors is the purchasing and delivering “Stuffed Animals” to the Children’s Hospital under the “Buddy Bears and Friends” Program.
We also take pride in participating in the Castle Rock Police Appreciation Project.
Our Auxiliary Unit also has been well-represented at community events and activities throughout the year, as members attend Memorial Day ceremonies at Cedar Hill and Bear Canyon cemeteries, Veteran’s Day ceremonies in Castle Rock, the Highlands Ranch 4th of July Parade, Douglas County Fair Parade in Castle Rock and the Senior Expo at the Douglas County Events Center, just to name a few.
