Each year, The American Legion gives its National Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award to a well-rounded law enforcement officer who has exceeded the duty requirements expected of his or her position and has demonstrated a distinct pattern of community service coupled with professional achievement.
American Legion Post 1187 is proud to announce that Douglas County Sheriff’s Office’s Deputy Tammy Bozarth has been selected by the National Headquarters of The American Legion as the Western Region’s Regional Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. In late January, Deputy Bozarth won at the district and department level for Colorado, after being nominated by Post 1187.
Deputy Bozarth has served the citizens of Douglas County for 19 years. In the summer of 2022, Bozarth became the county’s first HEART (Homeless Engagement Assistance Team) Member, where she is currently serving.
Congratulations Deputy Bozarth!
