Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation Guest Speaker

Posted by

During March’s regular American Legion Post 1187 meeting, our guest speaker was Jerrod Wildman, the President of the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation (DCVMF). He’s also a Legion member and Rider. The DCVMF is a non-profit organization originally set up to establish “Freedoms Keeper” plaza on 4th and Wilcox in front of the county building in Castle Rock, Colorado.

After they erected the monument to honor all Veterans serving, who have served or are going to serve in the future, they maintain the Monument and the Plaza for all to enjoy. They received such an outpouring of support, they started providing Veterans in need of assistance with a lifetime grant of $2000. Grant funds are used to support items such as rent, or bills required for the necessity of life.  The funds are only for Veteran residents of Douglas County.

If you or a Veteran you know is in need of some assistance, fill out the online application: https://www.dcvmf.org/grant-application/
