Did you Know? Veterans more likely to have IBS.

Posted by

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is an uncomfortable condition characterized by abdominal discomfort associated with altered bowel movements, that may be caused by a disturbance in the way the gut, brain, and nervous system interact. Recent studies have shown that Veterans, especially Veterans with anxiety or PTSD, have a higher incidence of IBS than civilian adults.

Did you also know that the VA now considers IBS a “presumed” condition, meaning you do not have to prove your IBS was caused by military service.

This is just one of the many new conditions covered under the PACT Act. Want to learn more, then come to a free presentation by Will Davis, the State Veterans Service Officer, this Wednesday March 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Phillip Miller Library in Castle Rock. All are welcome!
